Financial Assistance

Program

The Sunday River Ski and Snowboard Club (SRSSC) provides financial assistance to athletes participating in Gould Academy Competition Program (GACP). The SRSSC Grants Committee reviews requests for financial aid.  The amount of available aid is determined by the Board an annual basis and is limited.

Two categories of grants are considered:

(1)                     Financial assistance for athletes who need aid to participate in GACP weekend programs;

(2)                     Financial assistance for upper level athletes who incur large expenses related to events and training camps for which they qualify through the United States Ski and Snowboard Association and the US Ski Team ladder system.

Weekend Program Assistance

Grants are available for athletes who otherwise would not be able to participate in the GACP weekend program. Grants may be approved for up to 50% of the coaching fee. The Grants Committee reviews family financial information. Grants are limited to families with an annual gross income below $75,000. Athletes pay their portion of the fee at the beginning of the season. The Ski Club pays its portion mid-season provided the athlete demonstrates commitment through 90% attendance at training sessions.

Upper Level Assistance

Grants are available to provide merit aid to athletes who incur large expenses participating in elite level events in the northeast, nationally and worldwide.  Grants are available only for events qualified for through recognized USST and US Ski and Snowboard Association ladder systems, as well as USASA Nationals.  Athletes must be at least xxxxx years of age.
